What to include

- What you did and what you expected, and which microphone you use.
Common problems
The shortcut does nothing
Another app may already use ⌃⌥⌘M. Open Settings, go to the Hotkey tab and choose different keys.
The wrong microphone is muted
Open Settings, go to the Microphone tab and pick the input you use. If you change headsets, check this choice again.
Start at login does not stay on
The switch follows the real system setting. If macOS shows it as off, enable “Float Mute” in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.
A Bluetooth headset does not mute
Some headsets and USB microphones do not offer a mute switch to macOS. In that case the app lowers the input volume to zero instead. If it still does not work, tell us the model.
